Simantob Law Group is led by its founder, Lisa D. Simantob, who was admitted to the California bar in December 1989, according to State Bar records, which list Loyola Law School as her law school. According to the firm, she earned her undergraduate degrees at UC Berkeley, served as an editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, began her career in 1989 at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and founded Simantob Law Group in January 2000.

On the business side, the firm lists entity formation, drafting and reviewing contracts, business finance documents, purchases and sales of businesses, startup matters, franchise work and business litigation. It also says it acts as outside general counsel for companies that do not keep their own legal department.

Real estate is a large part of the practice. The firm's website lists acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, real estate finance, representation of property management companies and homeowners associations, public works and prevailing wage issues, real estate litigation and unlawful detainer (eviction) cases. In intellectual property, the firm says it files trademark applications in the United States and abroad, drafts license and distribution agreements, and handles litigation over trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition and trade secrets.

In labor and employment matters the firm works for employers, not employees. According to its website, it drafts employment agreements and policy manuals, advises businesses on state and federal employment law, and defends employers in PAGA claims, class actions, arbitrations and government agency audits.

The firm has one office, at 280 S Beverly Dr, Suite 304, in Beverly Hills. Its website says Ms. Simantob speaks English, French, Spanish and Farsi; State Bar records list French as a language she speaks and Spanish as a language spoken by her staff. The website does not publish its fee arrangements.
