We cover the Los Angeles legal industry.
LA Law Hub is an independent directory and media platform. We publish attorney listings, practitioner interviews, plain-English legal guides and local court news for Los Angeles County — so that people choosing a lawyer, and lawyers watching their own market, are working from the same facts.
What we are
- A directory of attorneys and law firms practising in LA County.
- A publisher of interviews, research and local court news.
- A reference for California legal processes, deadlines and forms.
- Independent of any law firm, bar association or referral network.
What we are not
- We are not a law firm and give no legal advice.
- We do not match you with an attorney or take referral fees.
- We do not rank firms, and no ranking here can be bought.
- We do not accept payment to publish or remove editorial coverage.
Most people pick a lawyer with less information than they use to pick a restaurant.
Los Angeles County has more practising attorneys than most countries. For someone who has just been injured, served with papers or fired, that abundance is not an advantage — it is noise. The listings that rank highest are usually the ones that spent the most on advertising, and the “top lawyer” badges are, more often than not, paid placements.
Meanwhile the practitioners themselves have surprisingly little visibility into their own market: what other firms charge, how long the court is actually taking, what changed in the filing rules last month.
LA Law Hub exists to make both of those problems smaller. A directory where verification means something specific, and reporting where the sourcing is visible.
Four rules we hold ourselves to
These are the commitments that make the rest of the site worth reading. If we break one, we would rather you knew.
Verification means one specific thing
A Verified badge means we checked the firm's California State Bar registration and current standing. It is not a quality rating, an endorsement, or something a firm can pay for — and we have not completed that check for any firm yet, so no listing currently carries the badge.
Editorial is not for sale
We do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove an interview, guide or news item. Firms we cover are frequently firms that pay us nothing, and that will not change.
Sourcing is visible
News items link to the general order, ordinance or published schedule they came from. Research states its sample size and its limits. Every interview is sent back to the interviewee for factual review before publication.
Corrections happen in place
When we get something wrong we fix the page and say what changed and when. We do not quietly edit and move on. Tell us if you spot an error.
How we pay for this
Firms can pay for an enhanced listing — a fuller profile page with more room for the firm's background, services and contact details. That is the entire commercial relationship, and it buys presentation, not position.
A paid listing does not move a firm up the directory, does not add a Verified badge, does not affect ratings, and does not buy editorial coverage or protection from it. Free listings appear in the same results with the same ranking treatment.
We take no referral fees and no commission on cases. Nobody pays us to send them a client, because we do not send clients — we publish information and you contact the firm directly.
Who publishes this
LA Law Hub is part of BODA Media Group, which operates a small portfolio of industry directories and trade publications. Editorial decisions on this site are made by the LA Law Hub desk.
