About RD Law Group
RD Law Group was founded in 2022 by Alex Derval and Natasha Rubin together with Daniel Sorenson, a former partner who died in 2024, according to the firm's website. The site lists Derval as managing partner and Rubin and Eva Abrams as partners. State Bar of California records show Derval was admitted to the California bar in 2019 and Rubin in 2017; both attended Southwestern Law School. Abrams was admitted in 1996, according to State Bar records, and the firm says she earned her J.D. at Western State College of Law after a bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto.
According to his firm biography, Derval began his career at larger Los Angeles law firms and started practicing employment law in 2019. Rubin's biography says she worked in civil litigation at Geragos & Geragos during law school, then in business affairs at ICM Partners and at the Los Angeles LGBTQ Center before turning to employment law. The firm says Abrams also has a background in business and transactional law, including employment contract disputes and severance negotiations.
The firm describes itself as a full-service employment practice for California workers. Its website lists discrimination claims based on race, gender, religion, disability, age, pregnancy, military status and sexual orientation, along with wrongful termination, sexual harassment, hostile work environment, wage and hour claims, protected leave, workplace retaliation and whistleblower matters.
RD Law Group states that all cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, with no attorney's fee due upfront and no fees or expenses unless there is a recovery. Initial consultations are free and can take place virtually; the firm says prospective clients can call or text to schedule one. The website has a Spanish-language page, and the office is on the 53rd floor of 707 Wilshire Blvd in Downtown Los Angeles.
